Town of Clarksville Public Works is accepting applications for the position of Public Works Operator 1. The position works to maintain Town properties, operates and may perform inspection and routine maintenance on various equipment including Garbage trucks, forklifts, backhoes, medium and pickup trucks, tractors, and mowers in the performance of materials moving, trash removal, grounds keeping and other similar activities, and assist in water and sewer operations. Possession of a valid Virginia driver’s license with a CDL endorsement is required (Class B is preferred).  Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements and extensive physical activity, requires strenuous physical work, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 100 lbs. High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; Completed degree from an accredited institution that is above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.  Applications can be obtained at the Town of Clarksville Town Hall, 321 Virginia Avenue, Clarksville, VA 23927 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Please submit the application and resume if applicable to Town of Clarksville, P.
