Economic Development & Tourism Coordinator   

 

The Town of Clarksville is soliciting for an Economic Development & Tourism Coordinator.  The position will provide a variety of administrative, advisory, planning, and expertise in helping to update, develop, and implement an economic development and tourism strategy for the Town of Clarksville.  This is a contract position that is estimated for 35 to 40 hours a week.  This individual will be responsible for working closely with town staff, Lake Country Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Authority of Clarksville, businesses, and non-profits in building a unified approach to promoting the growth of the existing and future economic development in the Town of Clarksville and the surrounding community.

Experience in tourism, economic, community development, and marketing including administrative responsibility required.  Graduation from a two-year college or university, preferably with specialization in economic development, community development, marketing or a related field; or any equivalent combination or experience and training.

CEMETERY FLOWER REMOVAL SPRING CLEAN-UP

MARCH 21 – APRIL 1

 

Owners of lots and grave sites in Oakhurst Cemetery in the Town of Clarksville are reminded that according to the Town Code all flowers, decorations and non-approved vases must be removed from lots and grave sites by March 21st.   This is to allow for the Town staff to conduct its annual spring cleanup.  According to the Town Code, any items left on the ground can and will be collected and disposed of by the Town staff.  New flower arrangements may be placed on grave sites and on lots after April 1st.  Floral arrangements that are on monuments or memorials, or in vases on monuments or memorials, do not need to be removed for the cleanup.  For any questions, please contact the Town Hall at 434-374-8177 Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

FEBRUARY 15th – APRIL 30th

MAXIMUM FINE $500.00

BURNING LAW IN BRIEF:

1.   No burning until after 4:00 p.m. if the fire is within 300 feet of woodland, brushland, or field containing dry grass or other inflammable material.

2.   Fire must be attended at all times if the fire is within 150 feet of woodland or other dry fuel leading to woodland.

3.   No fuel may be added or fire started after midnight.

4.   Law applies to campfires, warming fires, brush piles, household trash, stumps, fields of dry grass and brush, or anything capable of spreading fire.

Town Taxes Due February 1, 2022

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Town of Clarksville 2021/2022 Personal Property taxes and Real Estate taxes are due by Tuesday, February 1, 2022.  The taxes must be paid or postmarked by Tuesday, February 1, 2022, to avoid a 10% penalty plus interest.  Effective March 1, 2022, a $30.00 administrative fee will be added to all delinquent accounts for each year past due.  Also a DMV Stop will be placed on delinquent personal property tax accounts that includes a $25 fee to remove the stop.  If you have not received your tax statements or if you have any questions, please contact the Town Hall at (434) 374-8177.

FREE COVID TESTING – JANUARY 8TH & 20TH – CLARKSVILLE COMMUNITY CENTER

Southside Health District will be hosting two free Covid-19 testing events.  The first on Saturday – January 8th, 2022 from 3 PM to 5 PM and the second on Thursday – January 20th, 2022 from 3 PM to 5 PM at the Clarksville Community Center located at 103 Woodland Drive in Clarksville, VA 23927.   No appointment needed!!

Effective Friday, January 7, 2022, All Clarksville Town Offices Will Be Closed To The Public Due To The Continuing Rise In COVID Cases

 

PRESS RELEASE – 01/06/2022

 

Effective Friday, January 7, 2022, all Clarksville Town Offices will be closed to the public due to the continuing rise in COVID cases.

The Clarksville Town Offices are being staffed but will be closed to the public until further notice.  This action is to promote safety for the visitors, residents, and Town employees.  For any questions or requests, please contact the Town Hall at 434-374-8177.  Any payments to the Town for taxes, utilities bill, and other items can be submitted via US mail at P. O. Box 1147 Clarksville, VA 23927, by telephone (855-325-8899), or by website at www.clarksvilleva.org.  The Town also has a drop box beside the front entrance to the Town Hall.

All Town departments and services are operating under normal schedules.
