Clarksville Christmas Parade Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, 6:30 pm 

Deadline for Entries-December 2nd

Organized by the Clarksville Lake Country Chamber of Commerce (434-374-2436) and the Town of Clarksville; the parade will be a fun-filled event with no competitions.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • Registered entries only–deadline December 2nd no Santa on any entry.
  • All entries must be decorated in a Christmas theme & comply with these parade rules and regulations.
  • No candy may be thrown from entries; walkers alongside may hand candy to the children.
  • No sirens, horns or air-horns may be used during the parade.
  • Drivers of all entries must have a valid driver’s license.
  • No entry may halt the parade (only exception being the marching bands).
  • The Parade Committee reserves the right to reject any and all entries for any reason before and during the parade. No inappropriate actions or displays will be tolerated.
  • All entries must be in line no later than 6:15 p.m. sharp.

Virginia Avenue – Between 8th & 9th St. on 58 East

Fire Trucks, Rescue Squad, Smokey Bear, Police, and Queens

West Street – Between 8th & 6th Street

Color Guard VFW, Grand Marshall, Mayor & Town Council, Board of Supervisors, other Officials, and Candidates Behind them – Scouts, Clowns, and Dancers

All Floats – Handcraft, Religious, Commercial, etc.

Virginia Avenue – Near Catholic Church (805 Virginia Ave.)

Bluestone Middle & Senior High Bands

We invite you to come shop the one-of-a-kind stores at our annual Holiday Open House.  Our merchants are opening Sunday, November 21st so that you can shop Clarksville first from 1 to 5 pm and visit Santa at the Virginia Avenue Mall. As you walk to your favorite store, listen to the  sounds of Christmas music.  See what Clarksville has to offer!!

Microsoft Community Empowerment Fund – Open For Applications

Microsoft is excited to announce that the call for applications to the Microsoft Community Empowerment Fund – Boydton (Spring 2021) is now open.

 

Overview:

Microsoft is committed to the long-term health of the local communities where the company operates datacenters. As part of this commitment, Microsoft provides financial support to help build stronger communities and develop ecosystems of local partnerships to achieve social, economic and environmental outcomes. We are excited to support local organizations that address community-identified needs and help strengthen networks of local groups working together on community priorities in Mecklenburg, Halifax, Charlotte, Lunenburg and Brunswick counties.

All applications have to be completed electronically through the online application form.

 

Who is eligible?  

Microsoft Community Empowerment Fund is eligible to 501(C)3 nonprofit organizations that:

✓ Align to one or more of the priority funding categories – Broadband Expansion, Workforce Development/ Educational Opportunities, Regional Quality of Life.

✓ Comply with Microsoft’s Conflict of Interest, Anti-Corruption, Anti-Discrimination, and Charitable Donations policies.

✓ Follow funding guidelines and effectively respond to the application questions.

 

Review Process: Microsoft’s Community Empowerment Funding cycle consist of two distinct steps, a preliminary application open to the public and a secondary application available only by invitation. Preliminary applications open on October 11, 2021 and are due by November 20, 2021. Microsoft representatives and members of our local Community Advisory Board will review all preliminary applications and invite selected applicants to the secondary application round before February 28, 2022. Only invited applicants will be notified of the preliminary decision. Applications must be relevant to the funding categories and meet Microsoft’s eligibility requirements.
